Presentation DIWADIS at Amsterdam International Water Week

The Amsterdam International Water Week conference was a 2-day conference on 3 and 4 November 2015. Marco Hartman presented several products and services based on the use of Open Data. During the session ” Measuring and Responding to Climate Variability ” with about 40 participants DIWADIS, one of the Switch On products, was highlighted. Other services included initiatives as the African Flood Risk Center en reservoir monitoring in the Red River Basin.

The SWITCH-ON consortium gathered for the 2nd General Assembly (GA) in Delft, Netherlands on September 9-10th with representatives from all project partners. The two days were filled with many group activities allowing us to re-focus our common efforts, refine our goals and plan for better dissemination of our outcomes both during and after the life of the project. We especially appreciated the warm welcome given by our host partner – Deltares.

Beta release of SHIFT

The beta release of SHIFT has recently been made operational. The system is providing live information about the water demand and water availability, in order to support the SHIFT-users to determine optimal irrigation procedures. The system also provides information that indicates the start of the wet season and helps farmers to determine planting strategies. The beta release will be discussed with potential clients in July.
